Characteristics of LED street lights

LED street lights are different from conventional street lights in that the LED light source uses low-voltage DC power supply and high-efficiency white light synthesized by GaN-based power blue LED and yellow. It has unique advantages such as high efficiency, safety, energy saving, environmental protection, long life, fast response speed, and high color rendering index, and can be widely used in roads. The street light cover can withstand high temperatures of up to 135 degrees and low temperatures of up to -45 degrees.

Advantages

1. Its own characteristics-the unidirectionality of light, no light diffusion, and guaranteed lighting efficiency.

2. LED street lights have a unique secondary optical design, which irradiates the light of LED street lights to the area required for lighting, further improving the lighting efficiency to achieve energy saving.

3. LED has reached 110-130lm/W, and there is still a lot of room for development, with a theoretical value of 360lm/W. The luminous efficiency of high-pressure sodium lamps increases with the increase of power. Therefore, the overall light efficiency of LED street lights is stronger than that of high-pressure sodium lamps; (this overall light efficiency is theoretical. In fact, the light efficiency of high-pressure sodium lamps above 250W is higher than that of LED lamps).

4. The color rendering index of LED street lamps is much higher than that of high-pressure sodium lamps. The color rendering index of high-pressure sodium lamps is only about 23, while the color rendering index of LED street lamps reaches more than 75. From the perspective of visual psychology, the illumination of LED street lamps can be reduced by more than 20% on average compared with high-pressure sodium lamps to achieve the same brightness.

5. The light decay is small, and the light decay in one year is less than 3%. It can still meet the road requirements after 10 years of use, while the light decay of high-pressure sodium lamps is large, and it has dropped by more than 30% in about one year. Therefore, the design of the power usage of LED street lamps can be lower than that of high-pressure sodium lamps.

6. LED street lamps have automatic control energy-saving devices, which can achieve the maximum possible power reduction and save electricity under the condition of meeting the lighting requirements of different time periods. It can realize humanized functions such as computer dimming, time period control, light control, temperature control, and automatic inspection.

7. Long life: It can be used for more than 50,000 hours and provide three years of quality assurance. The disadvantage is that the life of the power supply cannot be guaranteed.

8. High light efficiency: Using chips above ≥100LM, it can save more than 75% energy compared with traditional high-pressure sodium lamps.

9. Easy installation: No need to bury cables or rectifiers, etc., just install it on the lamp pole or embed the light source into the original lamp shell.

10. Excellent heat dissipation control: The temperature in summer is controlled below 45 degrees, and passive heat dissipation is adopted. The heat dissipation guarantee in summer is insufficient.

11. Reliable quality: The circuit power supply is all made of high-quality components, and each LED has a separate overcurrent protection, so there is no need to worry about damage.

12. Uniform light color: No lens is added, and uniform light color is not sacrificed to increase brightness, thereby ensuring uniform light color without aperture.

13. LED does not contain harmful metal mercury and will not cause harm to the environment when scrapped. The energy-saving effect of the above principles is significant, and replacing high-pressure sodium lamps can save more than 60% of electricity. Low maintenance cost: Compared with traditional street lamps, Philips LED street lamps have extremely low maintenance costs. After comparison, the entire investment cost can be recovered in less than 6 years.

Disadvantages

1. Low power of a single LED. In order to obtain high power, multiple parallel connections are required.

2. Low color rendering. The color displayed under LED irradiation is not as real as that of incandescent lamps.

3. Light spot. Due to the manufacturing process defects of white light LED itself and the matching error with the reflector cup or lens, it is easy to cause the "yellow circle" problem.

4. LED irradiation uniformity problem. If the secondary optical design is not carried out, the irradiation of the LED is relatively concentrated, so the secondary optical design must be carried out to make its light intensity distribution diagram bat-shaped.
